Privacy declaration
Your media is not our data.
Effective October 11, 2026
EchoFind does not create accounts, show ads, use analytics, track you, or send your media or voice profiles to the developer. Sound and speaker analysis run on your device.
Information EchoFind collects
EchoFind does not collect personal information, media, transcripts, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or diagnostic data. The app contains no advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking SDKs.
Photos library
Photos access is requested only after you choose the Photos feature. For indexed videos, EchoFind stores a PhotoKit identifier and derived information such as sound labels, timestamps, confidence scores, and a compact waveform. EchoFind does not copy the original video into its own storage.
Playback uses the PhotoKit identifier to request the original asset again. An iCloud-only item may be downloaded by Apple for analysis or playback. EchoFind does not modify or delete original Photos items.
Files and recordings
Files selected through the iOS document picker remain in their original location. EchoFind uses the access granted by iOS to analyse and play the selected item. Recordings made inside EchoFind are kept in the app's private storage until you remove them or delete the app.
Temporary audio
EchoFind may extract temporary audio from a video or selected file so the on-device models can analyse it. Temporary analysis audio is stored only in the app's temporary directory, removed after processing, and never uploaded by EchoFind.
Family voice profiles
The experimental Family Voices feature lets you associate a name with a short voice sample. EchoFind processes that sample on the device using a bundled Core ML speaker model. It stores a 192-value mathematical voice embedding, the name you provide, a sample count, and an update date. The enrolment recording is deleted after the profile is created.
When you test another audio or video clip, EchoFind temporarily prepares its audio, compares embeddings on the device, and removes that temporary audio after the comparison. Family voice profiles are not sent to the developer or used for advertising.
Voice matching is experimental. A similarity score is not a probability or proof of identity. EchoFind must not be used for authentication, safety decisions, legal identification, or forensic conclusions.
Background indexing
If you enable overnight indexing, EchoFind asks iOS for background processing time while the device is charging. Apple decides whether and when the task runs. EchoFind checkpoints progress locally so an interrupted scan can resume later.
Apple system services
EchoFind uses Apple system services for Photos permission, iCloud media retrieval, document selection, media playback, background processing, and sound classification. Apple's operation of those services is governed by Apple's privacy policies.
Your controls
- Remove individual imported files and EchoFind recordings from the app.
- Delete the local Photos sound index without changing Photos originals.
- Delete individual family voice profiles or all saved voice embeddings.
- Revoke Photos or Microphone access in iOS Settings.
- Delete EchoFind to remove its private local storage.
Children
EchoFind does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else because the app does not collect or transmit user data to the developer. A parent or guardian should obtain appropriate consent before creating a named voice profile for another person.
Security and retention
Persistent indexes, recordings, and family voice profiles remain inside the app's iOS container. They remain until you delete them through EchoFind or remove the app. No security system can eliminate every risk, so avoid using EchoFind as the only copy of important media.
Changes to this declaration
If EchoFind adds networking, analytics, cloud processing, transcription, or another material data practice, this declaration and its effective date will be updated before that practice is introduced.
